Macular Degeneration

November 20th 2006 22:25
Eyesight is a precious commodity

Naturally Treating…Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is when the macular; the light sensitive area in the centre of the retina that is the main vision field and responsible for being able to view colors, breaks down and reduces the amount in which the eyes can see.

The key cause of macular degeneration is from free radicals which are unstable oxygen molecules that are damaging to the cells in the body. The main contributors are caused by smoking, high saturated fat diet, too much exposure to sunlight, high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes which limit the amount of blood that flows to the eyes.

There is a range of natural treatments available to help neutralize free radicals and prevent them from causing further damage.

1. Eat a balanced diet. Fresh vegetables and low quantities of saturated fat. Many fruits and vegetables contain a range of antioxidants that are proactive in destroying free radicals. Vitamin A has for years been attributed for its ability to improve and retain eye health
2. Drink lots of fresh water. By drinking water you flush out the impurities that are inside your system. This enables your liver to function properly and the quality of your blood that filters to the various parts of your body is of the right viscosity.

3. Wear sunglasses when out in the sun as ultraviolet rays are very harmful and can quickly destroy the macular
4. Zinc plays a key role in sustaining healthy function of the retina. Many people are believed to be deficient in this mineral especially elderly people.
5. Bilberry is a herb that contains antioxidant compounds and improves blood flow to the retina.
6. Selenium has been known to boost the bodies antioxidant overall which makes it a good weapon to fight elusive free radicals.
7. Fish oil has shown a remarkable improvement in vision and eye health in people who took it over a long period of time. This is due to essential fatty acids which improve circulation and its high vitamin A and D content.

Damage is very hard to reverse once it has set in. But you can take steps now to prevent the onset of macular degeneration by following some simple guidelines based on the suggestions above.

Look after yourself. The body is very precious and every thoughtless decision you make that concerns your body can be potentially harmful. Eyesight is a precious and underrated commodity. It is much easier to prevent it from worsening then to get it back once it is lost!

Using pyramids to heal

November 13th 2006 00:29
Pyramids are said to have healing powers

For as long as we have been aware of them; people have been baffled by the great Pyramids at Giza, including scientists. The amazing aspect of the great pyramids is their incredible preciseness and accuracy in a time where resources were limited and conditions where harsh and unforgiving. They are by far the biggest construction ever made by man and the mind boggles as to the how they were actually created. The mathematical precision is such that the dimensions and proportions are positioned in the exact centre of the earths land mass and they are exactly one trillionth of the weight of the Earth. It is obvious that these enigmatic edifices are not accidental but clearly planned and calculated to the millimeter.

There are many theories as to whom and why they are created but since we are referring to the healing benefits of pyramids we will explore that avenue instead.

After scientists discovered remains inside the pyramids had not decomposed; they began experiments by making much scaled down, pyramids based on same theories of the great pyramids, and used them to preserve fruit and vegetables. The results were so amazing; observations made on people that spent time inside the pyramid tents were documented. A device was connected to the patients head to measure their brain waves, reported a dramatic increase in brain wave patterns, whilst they were inside the pyramid. It is also interesting that patients, who spent a lot of time inside the structures, needed less sleep and woke much more refreshed the next day. Other studies were carried out on children in the same manner. The results were also astounding with many children reporting a tingling and numbing sensation whilst in the pyramid structure and showing a vast improvement in concentration levels when compared to children who didn’t spend anytime inside the pyramids. Some even demonstrated clairvoyant and mild telepathic behaviors for a short time after.

Nobody knows for sure how pyramid healing works but it is believed that it has something to do with the magnetic force created by the angles that make up the formation of the shape.

Some claims that have been attributed to pyramid healing:

Makes hair grow faster, Corrects faulty vision, Increases levels of concentration and intelligence, improves sexual drive, Relieves pain from cramping and stabilizes menstrual disorders, water placed inside pyramid shaped structures has healing properties.

No one knows for sure if these claims have any foundation. But there are new and exciting discoveries being made all the time in regards to the healing benefits of pyramids.

Nays say- Week 11

Black Tiger Snake

Hello and welcome to the nature’s therapy site!
Are you enjoying the therapies that we have covered so far?
Has any body tried one and noticed an improvement?

I hope the article on LSA didn’t put a huge scare amongst my male readers thinking that they would start singing soprano instead of tenor?

I thought I should clarify a few things regarding phyto-estrogen soy and its hormonal effect on men. The phyto soy content in LSA is fairly minimal and is only present in products that have soy blended with the mix. Because it is a naturally occurring female hormone it enhances the deficiency that might be lacking in females therefore being of benefit to women with disorders that affect their hormonal levels. To stabilize the levels lacking and to be of benefit; women need to implement this supplement as an ongoing regime. If you eat one of the ingredients by itself for e.g. Sunflowers seeds, you will probably not experience any noticeable hormonal change. In fact sunflowers are very much a male supplement as their increase sexual drive and performance due to their zinc and magnesium content, which are nutrients that are often lacking in men.

This week’s features are:

Tell me more about…Pyramid Healing: this method is based around the healing properties gained from using pyramids which alter brain wave patterns.

Foods that heal…Beans and lentils: Not just a vegetarian food; legumes can stabilize blood sugar levels making them a great option for sufferers of diabetes.

Body Insurance – The benefits of…Psyillium Husks: Just adding a small amount of this product to you cereal each day can bring about an amazing change in the way your body metabolizes and digests food.

Naturally treating…Macular Degeneration: Defining the condition and exploring natural alternatives and preventative techniques that might be of benefit.

Until next week

Foods that heal...Tomatoes

November 2nd 2006 06:10
Tomatoes are a bonus food
The Mediterranean diet is rich in tomatoes, but our culture is only recently becoming aware of its benefits.

Tomataoes contain the antioxidants, Vitamin E and Vitamin C plus beta carotene. These antioxidants have abilities that decrease the risks of cancer, heart disease and cataracts.
