The name 'Horny Goat Weed', originated from a story 100's of years ago in China. A goat herder noticed an increase in promiscuity amongst his goats. After studying them for a while; he saw that the increase was only apparent after the goats ate certain types of weeds. In the villages, word got around and Chinese practitioners began prescribing the weeds to treat humans.

Horny Goat weed (or Ying Yang Huo as the Chinese call it), has been used to treat kidney, liver, joint and back disorders and with its testosterone like effects; as an aphrodisiac.

It stimulates sexual activity, desire, increases sperm production and stimulates sensory nerves by inhibiting an enzyme in the brain that slows down responses in the neuromuscular system. As HGW inhibits this enzyme, it allows higher levels of neurotransmitters (that control sexual arousal) to get through.

Medical research conducted on the effects of HGW, has shown a definate inprovement in sexual desire (70%), satisfaction and some even reported an increase in their partner's satisfaction(this is probably due to inproved performance), compared to those who were administered a placebo.

Ther are no reported side effects, only positive ones such as those listed above.

Good news for women; Horny Goat weed can also be used to treat low libido and sexual arousal difficulties in women. Speak to your Practitioner to ensure you get the right formulation.
